Privacy policy
The short version: no accounts and no ads. Sound from your microphone and the picture from your camera stay on your device. Google Analytics counts page visits, and you can turn it off.

What this site collects
Gizmetto has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for, and it does not show ads. The tools never send your sound, your camera picture or your readings anywhere. The only data that leaves your browser is the page visit statistics described below.
Page visit statistics (Google Analytics)
To learn which tools people use, the site uses Google Analytics 4. It records page views and basic facts such as the page, the referring site, the country, the device type and the browser. It never gets your sound, your camera picture or your readings.
- Ads features are off: no ad personalization, no Google signals and no ad cookies.
- Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named
_ga) to count returning visits. - In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set. Google gets page views without cookies.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, Google Analytics does not load at all.
- Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. Read the Google privacy policy to learn how Google handles this data.
You can turn Google Analytics off on this device. The choice is kept in your browser's local storage.
Your microphone
Some tools, such as the pitch detector, use your microphone. Your browser asks for your permission first.
- The microphone is used only after you tap Start.
- It stops when you tap Stop or leave the page.
- Sound is processed in your browser with the Web Audio API.
- Sound is never sent to a server or stored.
The mic test is the one tool that records: when you tap Record, it keeps up to 5 seconds of sound in the memory of your browser tab so you can play it back. The recording is deleted when you tap Stop or leave the page, and it is never sent anywhere.
The sound test can ask for the microphone in Chrome and Edge for one reason: the browser shows the names of your output devices (speakers, headphones) only after that permission. The microphone stops at once and nothing is recorded.
You can turn off microphone access for this site at any time in your browser's site settings.
Your camera
The camera test uses your camera. Your browser asks for your permission first.
- The camera is used only after you tap Start camera, and it stops when you tap Stop or leave the page.
- The picture is shown on your screen only. It is never recorded, sent to a server or stored.
- A snapshot stays in the memory of your browser tab until you delete it, tap Stop or leave. If you tap Download, the file goes to your own device.
Your screen, controller and mouse
The display tests (dead pixel, backlight bleed, burn-in and monitor test) only draw on your screen. They read your screen size and pixel ratio to show them to you. The spots you mark stay in the memory of your browser tab and are gone when you leave the page.
The stick drift test reads your game controller, and the mouse tests read your clicks, scrolling and movement. The readings are shown on the page only and are never sent or stored.
Settings and saved readings on your device
Some tools remember your settings in your browser's local storage, so they stay the same next time: the pitch detector keeps your A4 reference and sensitivity, the decibel meter keeps your calibration offset, and each tuner (guitar, ukulele, violin and bass) keeps its own tuning and A4 reference. The mouse button test keeps your double click limit, and the mouse polling rate test keeps its window length.
When you tap Save, the reading goes into that tool's History, also in your browser's local storage: for example a tempo with the label you typed, or the average and maximum of a decibel measurement. You can remove one reading or clear the whole History in the tool.
Settings and saved readings stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. To remove all of them, clear the site data for this site in your browser.
Shared links
When you tap Share, the link holds only the reading itself, such as ?bpm=128. It holds nothing about you or your device. The link goes only where you send it.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver the site and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare processes standard request data, such as your IP address and browser type. Read the Cloudflare privacy policy to learn how Cloudflare handles this data.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts to use ads or any other service that collects data, this page will change first, with a new date at the top.
